The Data Analyst role at Old Mutual is focused on developing and implementing both ad-hoc and regular reports and dashboards to support business decision-making. The position involves extracting and manipulating data from various sources, conducting descriptive and exploratory data analysis, and presenting insights in a clear and interactive format. The analyst works closely with internal clients to understand business requirements and collaborates with data delivery teams to coordinate data inputs for strategic projects. Responsibilities

• Extracts data from various internal and external sources
• Performs data manipulation and descriptive or exploratory data analysis
• Conducts data quality checks and validates results
• Analyses data to support business requirements
• Liaises with data delivery teams
• Builds dashboards and reports to help answer business questions
• Interprets and analyses data and presents findings internally
• Meets with internal clients to understand business requirements and support report development
• Assists in creating end-to-end analytical solutions including data acquisition and visualization
• Coordinates data extractions and inputs for strategic projects
• Generates and tests hypotheses to provide actionable insights
• Works independently on repetitive tasks and seeks supervision for complex ones
• Accepts and lives company values while managing own time and output quality
• Collaborates effectively with others to achieve personal and team results

Qualifications

• Matriculation Certificate is required
• Experience with SQL is essential
• Advanced Excel knowledge is required
• Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is preferred
• Exposure to data-focused problem solving and critical thinking is expected
• Understanding of data modelling and dashboard reporting is beneficial
